Much has been done at Soldier and so much more to do:
We would like to invite you to attend either or both of our Soldier Mountain planning meetings.
You are part of our community and we hope you see you there. Your support in any way would help to make Soldier a sustainable 501c3 business.
Summerfest —-Meeting April 5th 10:00 am in the lodge.
Our music coordinator has been rounding up bands, for the Summerfest . He has some great possibilities and wants to share them with the planning team. Craig is available with the same sound system he provided last year.
Items to discuss: Date moved to June 21st, Knobby Tire Race to follow on the 22ed.
This meeting will be very informative and many volunteers are needed to pull off a fundraiser of this size. Last year there were over 100 dedicated volunteers. Our goal is to establish department heads and establish a budget for advertising. Food & Beverage, Volunteer Coordinator, Ticket / T-shirt Sales are some of the department heads we are looking for.
If anyone is interested in participating with this fundraiser, please come and join the planning process.
A second very important meeting will follow:
Strategy Meeting - April 5th at 1 pm in the lodge.
We will start the meeting with introductions and sharing of ideas. Many topics will be discussed for fundraising, marketing, and mountain development, i.e.: terrain park, race program,
Soldier supporters want to share their dreams. Each person will be slotted 5 to10 minutes of time to present their thoughts for Soldier, and how they plan to implement and fund them.
At 2:00 we will break, to form into sub-committees. Each committee will then plan to meet in the next month to collaborate an outline for an implementation plan. Please come to share your imaginings for Soldier, or come to listen, maybe you will be inspired to join our dedicated group of front line, Soldier Supporters.
If you have any questions you can call me.

Article for Soldier about ski runs by Valerie Metzger
Here we are in our second season! Last season Soldier Mountain had many upgrades, renovations and improvements and we had our first big music festival. Many thanks to our staff, sponsors and volunteers for a season well done. Now here we are painting and fixing for the upcoming season and getting ready for all of your happy faces to visit us again. One of the fun changes for the mountain includes the restoration of the original names to some of the runs and the naming of some new runs.
Soldier Mountain Ski Area, Inc. is always looking to include more skiers/boarders of all abilities and will have some new powder glades ready and will have the new cat ready for cat skiing/boarding adventures. And another improvement to make your ski day easier is the new Magic Carpet surface lift, a conveyor belt taking beginners up the hill so that we can teach kids of all ages. Soldier Mountain is a user-friendly place, ready for everyone to come and play.
Our history has always been a home-grown ski hill built on family pride and family traditions. Come join us in keeping the history alive and in feeling the good vibes of this unique mountain. “This is your mountain,”
Kristi Scheirmeier always says and we need you to come be a part of it and help us continue the traditions.
